Jingyi Shao

Film & TV Development

I regularly partner with writer-director Jingyi Shao to develop key art and pitch materials for his film & television projects.

To date, we’ve sold two feature films to MAKEREADY and Disney and have two television series in development.

Here are a few of my favorite pieces from our partnership:

Madness

Key Art Development

Upcoming basketball dramatic television series created by Jingyi Shao and executive produced by Jay Williams (NBA player, ESPN analyst).

TINO

Pitch Development

Writers Jingyi Shao & Henry Chen developed a high school drama loosely based on Justin Lin’s iconic coming-of-age film Better Luck Tomorrow. To pitch the series, we created an actual, physical year book as a leave-behind for studios executives. Executives were impressed – and the series was sold.

Responsible for concept, design, and physical production. Here are select spreads from the yearbook:

Chang Can Dunk

Key Art Development

I can speak from personal experience that millions of Asian kids around the world would give just about anything to be able to yam a basketball on the court. Jingyi just sold this heartfelt story in to Walt Disney Studios, and I’m sure the key art I designed didn’t hurt his chances ︎︎︎
