Moonrise Gala

Client: 88rising, Lexus, Johnnie Walker

2024

Overview

Transforming Lunar New Year into an epic night of luxury and music to create a new awards show franchise in celebration of Asian excellence

Moonrise Gala is a one-of-a-kind gala and media moment that honors trailblazers of Asian music + culture at the dawn of the Lunar New Year.

Featuring legendary music performances, breathtaking installations, moving tributes, and a star-studded roster of notable guests, MOONRISE turns Lunar New Year into a must-see media spectacle to shine a spotlight on Asian music legends past and present in the midst of music’s biggest moment - the Grammys.

Held at Milk Studios in Los Angeles, the inaugural Moonrise Gala was a major cultural event that garnered national attention and headlines, most prominently featured in The New York Times.

Our team developed the Moonrise brand and gala from the ground up, executing across every level from visual identity, experiential production, awards development, talent curation and outreach, brand partnership integrations, and content capture.

Brand Partnerships

Moonrise Gala was brought to life with two key brand partners dedicated to championing Asian excellence, Lexus and Johnnie Walker Blue Label.

–––
Lexus

We crafted an on-site installation inspired by the concept of a ‘Family Tree’ to symbolize and celebrate the growing family of Asian trailblazers in creativity. The installation and partnership was fruther immortalized in Lexus-driven promotional content tying Lexus’s vision for the future with the aspirations of the gala.

–––
Johnnie Walker Blue Label

We built a premium interactive bar experience inspired by Blue Label’s LNY collaboration with artist James Jean, where gala attendees could witness the flavors of Blue Label transform into a a variety of Moonrise-exclusive cocktail collaborations right as they were being served to guests.
